As the pool resumes its normal form the dead enemy undersea creatures revert to most of the leaders who had arrived at the pool from other defense belts. With the eruption of the pool and the decimation of the leadership, the Iuz forces fled the area, the monsters they had controlled set about wandering around seeking food and mating opportunities as usual and the mindless undead were put down one by one as they milled around the area.
Remaining allied forces pursued the fleeing troops until they themselves got exhausted and filed back slowly to the original rally point in the clearing. Most persons there fall into some restorative sleep while the elves stand watch in restful trances. When day breaks again and your group rises and stretches knotted muscles, Eldar Qumari comes by once more. His left arm is bandaged and is unnatural in shape, as though a portion of the flesh is missing beneath the wrapping.
He sighs as only a millennium year old being can sigh and then speaks. “We have the field, thanks to your aid. As usual many of our allies and our own folk have taken wounds or taken to the beyond, but this day we endure. Eldar Teechin is comatose and his life force is receding. We may never see his like again.
His eyes light on Homba and he says, “Forgive my early judgment but so many of the humanoids have been our bane that it is hard to embrace you in our realm, but I thank you directly now.” He sweeps his good arm at all of you and says: “I name you all elf-friends, welcome to travel in our realm as you desire.” He grips each of you by the right forearm and you see a small rune left behind, that fades into invisibility. “Fare thee well until we meet again. Especially you, Talington Tindertoe, more of three-quarterling than halfling now. ” He moves off to another group where a man is weeping over an unmoving form under a blanket.
Each of you with any type of missile weapon gets a full quiver of elven +1 ammunition. Each gets another Lembas (double healing potion). Each gets 75gp from looted corpses in your sector. Each of you save Fallon can keep the Pearl of speech-Sylvan. This stays comfortably in your mouth if you wish or you can take it in and out, about the size of a BB. One of you finds an item on the undead beholder that looks like a wrought iron capital “Y” which radiates magic.
